Rahul Dravid | ರಾಹುಲ್ ದ್ರಾವಿಡ್

Do we really need any introduction about this Great Gentleman who played in the so-called Gentleman's game?

Rahul Sharad Dravid was born on 11th January 1973 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
Since his family moved to Bangalore lately, he was raised in Bangalore where he completed his education at St.Joseph's group of institutions.

Dravid started playing cricket at the age of 12 and represented Karnataka at the under-15, the under-17, and the under-19 levels.

Dravid made his international debut on 3rd April 1996 in an ODI against Sri Lanka in the Singer Cup held in Singapore.

Nicknames: The Wall, Jammy, Mr.Dependable

Hailed as The Wall, Dravid has been described as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket.

It is told that the Cricket Rulebook is made after watching Rahul's batting! So perfect is his batting style!

Dravid announced his retirement from Test and domestic cricket on 9 March 2012.

A unique 27 by 15 feet structure next to the main gate of the Chinnaswamy stadium is built as a tribute to this great legend!

It comprises 10,000 units that represent David's 10,000 plus runs in both forms of cricket (Tests and ODIs). The highlight of 'The Wall' is a large metal statue of Rahul Dravid playing his trademark cover-drive.

Commitment, Consistent, Class - and that's Dravid!

The list of achievements and awards is so huge, I am posting few links where you can get the details of them all
