The Green Route Trek

`The Green Route Trek`
Sakaleshpura <--> Yedakumeri <--> Kukke Subramanya

Green Route is a well known segment along the Bangalore and Mangalore railway line in India, within the pristine part of Western Ghat mountain ranges often called the trekker's paradise.
This is the segment on the railway track from Sakaleshpura to the Kukke Subramanya Road station.
This stretch of the track with length about 52 km has around 50 tunnels and bridges with length varying from few metres to 0.75 km and height varying from few metres to 200 meters and some beautiful water streams all through the journey.

Trek can be started either at Subramanya OR from Donigal station near Sakaleshpur. Most preferred one is to start from Donigal, trek till Yedakumeri which is around 17 km from the starting point. Halt there in the night, catch a train to Subramanya in the morning (actually train doesn't stop here, you have to bribe/request the station master to stop it!).

P.S : This trek is Illegal! If you encounter PW Engineer or Track Supervisor during the trek, you will be in lot of trouble ;) worst thing is you would be asked to return back!!
If you are Okay with taking some risk, Go ahead! Don't forget to wear some good quality shoes, warm clothing for the night stay(u will have to sleep in railway station!), adequate amount of food, a Torch for the tunnel and some knowledge about the train timings!! ;)
