Yaana | ಯಾಣ

Yaana is a village in Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka.
Yaana is famous for these two massive rock outcrops known as the 'Bhairaveshwara Shikhara'(390ft) and the 'Mohini Shikhara'(300ft). The huge rocks are composed of solid black, crystalline limestone. It is believed that these mountains were formed by the Bhasmasura-Mohini(Lord Vishnu) story of Hindu Mythology in which Bhasmasura
turned down into ashes by placing his own hands on his head during a dance duel with Mohini! The two mountains are named based on this belief.

This place is 400 km from Bangalore, 25 km from Kumta and 40 km from Sirsi on NH 17.
