Kumara Parvata | ಕುಮಾರ ಪರ್ವತ



This trek is considered as the toughest trek of South India!

Kumara Parvata - is a mountain near Kukke Subramanya town of Sullia Taluk, Karnataka. The peak is at a height of about 1712m, and is about 13 km from the Kukke Subramanya temple.
Kukke Subramanya town is around 260+km on Bangalore-Mangalore Highway.

The peak can be reached thru two routes -

1st route -> start from Kukke - reach Bhattra mane which is arnd 6.5 km from Kukke - cross forest checkpost - trek 2kms to reach Kallu mantapa, there is a water source there - then a trek of 2.5 km to reach Shesha Parvata peak - then a trek of 2 km thru dense forest to reach Kumara Parvata Peak.

2nd route -> take a bus from Somwarpet to Bidalli - start the trek from a Shiva temple near Pushpagiri Forest area - reach forest checkpost - 7 kms from forest checkpost, u reach the peak.

Source of food available in route 1 - Bhattra mane. No source of food available in route 2.(carry enough water and food with you, if u r trying this route).
Equip urself with a pair of good quality shoes, a sleeping bag, enuf water and food.

This mountain is famous for King Cobras!, be prepared for surprises :)
